A. President of the Department

The President of the Department has the following responsibilities:
a) convenes the assembly, prepares the agenda, appoints a member of the assembly as rapporteur on the issues, chairs its work and proposes the issues for which no other member of the assembly has been appointed as rapporteur;
b) ensures the implementation of the curriculum, educational activities and the Internal Regulations;
c) sets up committees to study or address specific issues within the department;
(d) transmit to the dean the views of the assembly; and
e) prepares an annual report of activities of the department and forwards it to the dean

B. Department Assembly

The Assembly of the Department consists of the Professors and the serving Professors of Applications of the Department, according to what was provided by the  law 4009/2011 (A’ 195), a representative of the members of the Special Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP), a representative of the members of the Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP), as well as a representative of the students of the Department (one undergraduate).
The representative of the members of the Special Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) and the Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP) are elected by direct and secret ballot among its respective members, while the representative of the students through the student elections according to law 4009/2012 as amended and in force, the statute of student associations and the operating regulations of the TEI.

The assembly of the department has the following responsibilities and all the others provided by the provisions of this law, the Organization and the Internal Regulations:
a) the election of the President of the Department,
b) the implementation of the curriculum and the continuous improvement of learning in it,
c) the definition of the teachers of the courses of the study program;
d) the selection and approval of textbooks for each course of the study program;
e) giving an opinion to the dean on ways to improve the curriculum;
f) the formation of teams for the internal evaluation of the curriculum;
g) the suggestion to the dean for the announcement of teacher positions and
h) the suggestion to the dean of the school for the establishment of second and third cycle study programs.

Introduction


Based on the current social - economic developments, it is necessary to formulate a long-term Research Strategy of the Department for the period 2020-2025, shaping the research priorities during the above period, and is part of the general framework of the University Research Strategy of the University.

The Department of Business and Organization Management is a new department of the University of Peloponnese, and therefore created the need to design a unified research strategy that was formed in parallel with the procedures of the curriculum. This process ensured both the osmosis between the faculty members. and its students, and the participation of all members, as well as the necessary bases for the development of research teams focused on a single now cognitive objects.

It is noted that the Department organizes and operates:

1. Management Information Systems and Quantitative Data Analysis Research Laboratory

2. Three MSc:

a) "Historical Demography" in co-organization with the Ionian University

b) "Public Administration and Local Government"

c) "Techno-economic Management Systems"

From the above-mentioned, the dynamism of the faculty members is highlighted. in academic research and teaching, the synergies and osmosis achieved within the Department, research coherence, extroversion and collaboration with notable university institutions at home and abroad, and the ability to follow current developments and challenges.

Dissemination of research results

The aim of the Department is the research conducted by the members of its Teaching Staff to be disseminated both in the academic community and in the society. To this end, a consistent strategy is to publish articles in journals and conferences that are gaining recognition from the international academic community.

In addition, conferences and workshops are organized at regular intervals, both in the premises of the Foundation and in places in the city center, with topics related to the general field of knowledge of the Department.

In 2013, pursuant to Presidential Decree 91/2013, the TEI of Kalamata was renamed to the TEI of the Peloponnese, within which the Department of Business Administration and Organizations - BOA was established and operates. The Department of BOA was integrated into the School of Management and Economics and resulted from the merger of the two pre-existing departments in the respective School of the TEI of Kalamata, the Department of Health & Welfare Units and the Department of Local Government offering the introductory directions of Health & Welfare Unit Management and Local Government Management.

As soon as Law 4610/2019 was enacted, the TEI of Peloponnese and its Departments were abolished, while students and faculty members joined the newly established Department of Business Administration and Organizations of the School of Management of the University of Peloponnese.

The Department of Business and Organization Administration (BOA) is a new and dynamic member of the University of the Peloponnese that aspires to leave its mark on education, research and its connection with business, public organizations and society, providing its students diversified higher education.

BOA's vision is academic excellence in close relationship with the business community to build a responsible future.

The students of the Department have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of courses, which cover the branches of management science with emphasis on two directions, those of business administration and of organizations management. At the same time, students have access to all modern educational tools (computer labs, access to international databases, interactive media, specialized library, etc.) in order to more effectively utilize and apply their scientific knowledge.

The purpose of the Department's Curriculum is to train effective executives with personality, ethics and respect for institutions and values, who can staff the private and public sector of the country. At the same time, it provides all the necessary supplies to pursue, if they wish, postgraduate and doctoral studies, constantly passing on knowledge to its students through teaching and research, creating opportunities and prospects for both the academic community and the productive forces.

Thus, the BOA Department offers and contributes to the creation of knowledge capable of transforming businesses and organizations.
